This Week: Notre Dame College men's basketball faces two tough opponents this week. The Falcons host the University of Charleston, today at 7:30 p.m., inside Murphy Gymnasium. Then NDC will travel to West Virginia State to battle the Yellow Jackets inside the Walker Convocation Center for a 4 p.m. contest on Saturday.
Records: Notre Dame College is 9-15 and 7-11 in the Mountain East Conference. Charleston is 19-5 and 13-5 in the MEC, while West Virginia State holds a record of 17-6 and 12-6 in the MEC.
Coaches Corner: Mark Richmond is in his first season as the coach of the Falcons. Dwaine Osborne is in his seventh season at the helm of the Charleston program and holds a record of 128-75. Bryan Poore is 341-273 in his tenure at State, as he is now in his 22nd season.
Rankings: None of the teams are ranked in this week's NABC Coaches' poll. In the NCAA Division II Regional Rankings, Charleston is currently fifth and West Virginia State is seventh in the Atlantic Region.
Series History: The Falcons are 3-10 all-time versus Charleston, and UC won the first matchup this season, 95-70, back on January 18. NDC is 10-6 versus West Virginia State since the MEC began in 2013-14 season. In the first meeting on January 15, the Falcons fell to the Yellow Jackets 94-85. Prior to their meeting with Notre Dame this Saturday, WVSU will battle Urbana on Wednesday.
