Lacrosse continues their homestand with three more games

Upcoming Games: Notre Dame College women's lacrosse will play West Virginia Wesleyan College on April 12, at 4 p.m., Shepherd University on April 14, at 1 p.m. and then Wheeling Jesuit University on April 18, at 2 p.m.

Senior Day: Notre Dame will celebrate senior Taylor Henderson before the game on April 14.

Records: Notre Dame is currently 6-7 on the season and 2-3 in the MEC. WVWC holds a record of 5-7, but they are 0-5 in conference play. Shepherd is 6-5 with an MEC record of 3-2 and Wheeling Jesuit is 8-4 (4-1 MEC).

Coaches Corner: Pam Jenkins is now in her third season as the head coach at NDC with an overall record of 11-28. Hannah Lively is also in her third campaign with West Virginia Wesleyan and has a record of 15-26-1 (3-12 MEC), while Jenny Miller is in her fourth season with Shepherd with her teams posting a 29-33 total record and 14-7 in the MEC. Jennifer Pawlowski is in her first season with Wheeling Jesuit.

Rankings: None of these teams are ranked in the IWLCA Coaches Poll.

Series History: Notre Dame is 5-4 versus W.Va. Wesleyan since they first played in 2011, including a victory over the Bobcats this season. Against Shepherd, NDC is 2-7 since 2010 and against Wheeling Jesuit, they are 2-5 since 2013. The Falcons have lost to Shepherd and Wheeling this year.

Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame has won four of their last seven games. They now have six wins, which is the most since 2016. The Falcons' two conference wins tie the most that the program has won in a season as a part of the MEC. NDC is second in the MEC with a shot percentage of .419, scoring 152 goals on 363 shots. Danyelle Hardy is fourth in the conference, scoring 2.69 goals per game with a team leading 35 goals scored. In three games last week, she scored 12 goals. Selena Carter had eight goals last week, including four free position goals. Hardy also leads the team in assists with 10, points with 45 and shot percentage at .700. Ellejanna Cicione recorded 28 saves in three games last week, putting together a record of 2-1. Katie Wendell tops the team with 16 caused turnovers.

Noting the Bobcats: After starting 5-2, West Virginia Wesleyan has lost five consecutive games, and the losing streak started when the Falcons beat them on March 22. During the streak, the Bobcats have been outscored 76-30. Gabrielle Cleaveland saves 9.4 shots per game which is third in the MEC and has a saves percentage of .472 which is second in the conference. Madison Duvall leads the team with 26 goals, 35 points, 52 draw controls and is one of three players with nine assists.

Noting the Rams: Shepherd has gone 5-2 in their last seven games and are now in third place in the MEC, one game in front of NDC. The Rams score 13.8 goals per game, which is second in the league. They also assist on six of their goals each game, which is second in the MEC. On the defensive side, Hailey Bennett is in second in goals against average (10.39) and leads the conference in saves percentage (.534). Backup goalie, Jordan Hardesty is first with a goals against average of 6.82. Lillian Funke leads the team and the conference with 45 goals and 4.09 goals per game. She also leads the conference in points (62) and points per game (5.64). Sydney Kelly is second in the MEC with 1.82 assists per game.

Noting the Cardinals: Wheeling Jesuit has gone 6-1 in their last seven games, but four of those games have been decided by two goals or less. Their only conference loss came at the hands of UVa-Wise, who is still undefeated in conference play. Wheeling ranks third in the conference with 13.75 goals per game, assists per game with 5.08 and points per game with 18.83. Mackenzie Kaderabek is second in the MEC with 3.55 goals per game and 39 total goals on the season while Ally Coggins leads the conference with 1.92 assists per game and 23 total assists. Emma Stair is third among MEC goalies with a goals against average of 11.85.
