SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame College swimming and diving team won its first team meet of the season against Davis & Elkins on Friday. The Falcons scored 209 points to the Senators 189. Individually, the men's team won 115-90 while the women were just edged out 99-94.
"I'm really proud of our team today," said head coach
Stephanie Gyurke. "Our energy and mental focus was excellent for this early in the season. Being early in the season, we definitely saw some technical things we could improve upon, and will do so in the weeks ahead."

Brionna Costanzo took the first win of the meet with a time of 2:07.16. The men followed with their own win by sophomores
Garrett Warren,
Daniel Alvarez,
Campbell Fisher, and freshman Noah Nelson with a time of 1:43.10. Davis & Elkins took second while the NDC B-Relay took third.
In the 1000 freestyle, freshman
Hannah Berlin took first with a time of 11:14.95. Josh Grzincic took second in the 1000 with a time of 11:02.44.
NDC freshmen
Brooke Dobrzanski and
Alexis Torosian took first and second in the women's 200 freestyle while the men took second and third (Warren and Alvarez).
Webb and Finn both scored points for the Falcons in the women's 50 freestyle by placing third (28.94) and fifth (30.56). Freshman
Roan Kelleher won the men's 50 freestyle with a time of 22.39 while
Brandon French scored 5th (25.50).
Fisher and McIntosh brought home first (2:03.76) and second (2:08.62) in the men's 200IM while Torosian won in the women's 200 Fly (2:18.78). Fisher also won the men's 200 fly in a time of 2:01.54.
Dobrzanski also fought for another Falcon win in the women's 100 freestyle with a time of 56.89.
Hannah Parkman, had a solid third place finish with a time of 57.75.
Warren came back strong and secured another win for the Falcons in the men's 200 backstroke (2:04.17). Berlin and Dobrzanski finished first and second place in the women's 500 freestyle while Alvarez was first for the men. Grzincic followed with a third place finish.
McIntosh earned another individual win for the men in the 200 Breaststroke (2:22.07) while Finn finished second in the same event (2:54.62).
In the final event of the night, the 200 freestyle relay, the Falcons won both the women's (1:47.75) and the men's (1:31.54) races. The men also finished second in this event with a time of 1:37.89.
Notre Dame will compete against Salem on Friday, October 15, at 6 p.m.
