SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Notre Dame College Director of Athletics Scott Swain has announced the promotion of Isaac Hunt and Jake Bunner. Hunt, who oversees communications for the athletic department, has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications while Bunner will serve as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.
 
The communications and sports information for NDC Athletics has transformed under Hunt and Bunner, who started in their previous positions within the department early in 2017.
 
Notre Dame has seen an immense increase in both social media activity and webpage traffic since the duo took over. In less than three years, the NDC Falcons accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have nearly doubled in followers with 92-percent growth. This has resulted in an impressions increase of 70 percent, including an added 1.8 million rise in impressions on Twitter each year. 
 
The sustained improvement of social media tools has led to a more active audience on notredamefalcons.com, which has seen a surge in viewership. In their first year, Hunt and Bunner's work produced an additional 850,000 webpage views compared to the year prior. With the use of weekly game previews, diligent award nominations and announcements, and compelling game recaps the two have been able to keep audience growth stable through 2019.
 
"Isaac and Jake are well deserved of this promotion," Swain said. "They go above and beyond in their duties and have kept our sports information department at the top of the Mountain East Conference year after year. I am so proud of the department's communications and the publicity our Falcon student-athletes receive through their efforts."
 
Hunt's tenure has been highlighted by helping student-athletes gain conference, regional and national recognition. Through the College Sports Information Directors of America, the Falcons have seen five players earn Academic All-American status in the last two years. The prestigious honor had been earned just once prior to 2017. Hunt also serves on regional voting committees in baseball and women's basketball.
 
Bunner has been at the forefront of the department's social media advancement, serving as the Manager of Marketing and Promotion previously. Wearing many hats, he often serves as the public address announcer at home games and calls play-by-play on live streams. Many fans may also recognize his work during NDC football games as the color commentator on ESPN Cleveland.
