ORLANDO, Fla. – The Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) announced its Board of Directors in June for the 2019-20 membership year. Serving on the board, and representing the Mountain East Conference, is Notre Dame College Director of Athletics
Scott Swain.
"I am privileged to be selected as a member of the Board of Directors," Swain said. "This provides Notre Dame and the Mountain East Conference the honor to work with an organization that is highly respected in higher education throughout the country. I am looking forward to taking part in the role the D2 ADA plays within the division's governance."
The D2 ADA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of Division II athletics directors. The D2 ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 54th year.
"
Scott Swain has been an outstanding leader for the Mountain East Conference, having been the MEC's first representative to NCAA Division II Management Council and now in his second term as the MEC's Chair of the Committee of Athletics Administrators," said Mountain East Conference Commissioner Reid Amos. "Scott will be an outstanding representative for the MEC as a member of the D2ADA Board of Directors."
The mission of the D2 ADA is "to empower its membership in their roles as directors of athletics." The organization provides many things, including: a collective voice for Division 2 athletics directors, a forum to discuss issues that impact the role of Division 2 athletics directors, a recognized relationship with other athletics director associations and NCAA leadership groups and helpful information to the Division 2 athletics directors including surveys, newsletters and meetings.
