WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Three pins propelled No. 3 Notre Dame College past West Liberty University by a score of 40-6 as the Falcons continued their winning ways in dual matchups, on Friday evening.
With the victory, NDC now has a record of 5-1 in duals this season.
The Falcons started strong with
Roberto Campos winning by decision and
Hunter Bray winning by major decision at 125 lbs. and 133, respectively, giving Notre Dame a 7-0 advantage.
David Bavery won at 141 after West Liberty did not have anyone scheduled in the weight class and the only Falcons loss of the night came when NDC had a medical forfeit at 149.
Notre Dame got back to their winning ways at 157, when
Zach Kelly defeated Josh Cornell by decision.
Anthony Dailey finished off the first pin of the night for NDC when he put Owen Zeiders on the mat.
After
Cornell Beachem Jr. and
Emilio Fowler each won by decision, the Falcons'
Logan Hall pinned Austin Loew at 197 and
Kameron Teacher quickly pinned Francesco Borsellino at 285. The Falcons received 18 total points with the three pins over the final five matches.
Notre Dame will compete, next, at Lake Erie College on January 25. The dual begins at 7 p.m.
