This week: Notre Dame College men's basketball is at home this week and will play Glenville State College on February 8 at 7:30 p.m. They will also take on West Virginia Wesleyan College at 4 p.m. on February 10.
Records: The Falcons currently hold a 5-17 overall record and are 3-13 in the Mountain East Conference. Â GSC is also 5-17 and 3-13 in conference while WVWC is 5-17, overall, and 5-11 in the MEC.
Coaches Corner: Tim Koenig is currently in his fifth season at the helm of the Falcons and holds an overall record of 69-74 and has an MEC record of 44-60. Stephen Dye is in his 10th season as head coach with Glenville State. In 2016-17, the Pioneers went 12-16 and 8-14 in the MEC. Jack Meriwether is in his first season as a head coach, after being the interim head coach for 15 games last season, going 8-7.
Rankings: None of these teams received votes in the NABC Coaches Poll.
Series History: The Falcons hold an all-time record of 6-3 against Glenville State since 2013-14. Notre Dame lost 82-79 on January 4 against GSC, on the road. NDC is 5-5 against West Virginia Wesleyan since the 2012-13 season and the Falcons beat the Bobcats 79-78 on January 6, in Buckhannon, W.Va.
Noting the Falcons: On February 1, Notre Dame traveled to Shepherd University and were defeated 107-90. The Falcons shot 55-percent from the floor and 56-percent from three point range.
Drew Scarberry shot 7-for-13 behind the three point line and finished with 28 points in 33 minutes.
Angelo Cugini added 18 points and nine rebounds while shooting 73-percent while
Oliver Megins gave the Falcons 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists. The Falcons fell to Fairmont State University, on the road, by a score of 105-65 on February 3. Cugini put together a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while both Scarberry and Hayes scored 14 points.
The Falcons score 83.4 points-per-game which is fourth highest in the Mountain East Conference. This season, NDC is shooting .387 from three point range, ranking third in the MEC. NDC is connecting on 11.88 threes per game and have made 190 threes in conference play this season, ranking second in both. The Falcons rank sixth in NCAA Division II with 271 three point field goals made this season and rank fifth with 12.3 threes-per-game. Kyauta Taylor is leading the MEC by shooting 88-percent from the free throw line in 22 games. He is fifth in the MEC in scoring with 18.6 points-per-game and third in steals with 2.05 per game.

Drew Scarberry (3.05) is fourth and Taylor (2.91) is fifth in the MEC in three pointers made per game.
Noting the Pioneers: Glenville State played three games in the last week beginning with a 92-79 win over West Virginia State on February 1. The Pioneers went on the road, shot 57-percent and held the Yellow Jackets to 26 points in the first half. Brooks Ely shot 9-for-9 from the floor and 3-for-3 from three on his way to a 22 point, 10 rebound night. Dwayne Chastain Jr. shot 60-percent and scored 17 points. Against the University of Charleston, GSC lost at home by a score of 77-69. Darhius Nunn led the team with 21 points and six rebounds while Jon Dunmyer scored 14 points. Glenville State outscored Davis & Elkins College 46-38 in the second half to win 78-75 on February 5. Nunn took 24 shots in the game and scored 35 points in 37 minutes. Ely scored 15 points and 11 rebounds while Theo Brown recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Glenville State has the least amount of assists in the conference with 250 and they have the lowest assist-per-game average with 11.9. Darhius Nunn currently ranks seventh in the MEC in scoring with 17.8 points-per-contest, seventh with 3.90 assists-per-game and seventh in free throw percentage at .797 percent. Brooks Ely has blocked 19 shots, sixth most in the conference.
Noting the Bobcats: West Virginia Wesleyan upset Charleston on February 1, by a score of 70-67, on the road. Dusan Vicentic went 7-for-14 from the floor, including 3-for-5 from three point range to total 22 points. Luka Petrovic scored 14 points and the Bobcats shot 49-percent, as a team. WVWC outscored UC 44-38 in the second half. The Bobcats beat West Virginia State 84-70 at home on February 3. Petrovic scored 10 points, added 14 assists and had six rebounds. Vicentic shot 80-percent and scored 18 points while Nick Brooks scored 17 points and Aaron Ariri added 14 points. As a team, WVWC shot 59-percent and 47-percent from three.
The Bobcats score the lowest amount of points of anyone in the conference, at just 66.5 points-per-game. They have only hit 131 three pointers this season and make 5.95 on average, both are last in the conference. Luka Petrovic has 113 assists this campaign and averages 5.14 which is third in the MEC and he is second in steals with 2.09 per game.
