JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – No. 2 Notre Dame College wrestling won the Division II East Super Regional by tallying 133.5 points over Friday and Saturday. They also qualified seven wrestlers to advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament, along with two alternate qualifiers.

NDC beat the second place finisher, University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown, by 22 points. The Falcons have won the Super Regional in back-to-back seasons and five out of the last six years.

"We wrestled well, especially on Saturday," head coach Frank Romano said. "We had seven byes to start the day on Friday, which hurt because we didn't get bonus points for wrestling, but we got past that."

The wrestlers who finished in the top four in their weight bracket qualify to advance to the National Tournament.

Redshirt-senior Ivan McClay (125 lbs.), redshirt-senior Drew Walker (141), sophomore Taylor Misuna (149) and sophomore Kameron Teacher (285) all placed first in their weight class. Sophomore Kelan Mckenna (133) and sophomore Fernando Silva (157) placed second and sophomore Tony Vezzetti (184) placed third. Redshirt-junior Anthony Dailey (165) and junior Justan Rivera (174) each placed 5th, and qualified as alternates.

"We are pleased to defend our title in the Super Regional," said Romano. "And we are moving on to Nationals."

The NCAA Division II National Tournament will begin on March 9. The competition will take place in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Kelan Mckenna, 133 – Received a bye in the championship round one, Defeated Austin Hertel (Gannon) in the quarterfinal (Major Decision 14-0), defeated Curtis Cox (Alderson Broaddus) in the semifinal (Decision 7-0), lost to Dustin Warner (Wheeling Jesuit) in the 1st place match (Decision 3-2).

Drew Walker, 141 – Received a bye in the championship round one, defeated Cole Rush (Shippensburg) in the quarterfinal (Tech Fall 21-3), defeated Joseph Calderone (Long Island) in the semifinal (Decision 15-11), defeated Chris Eddins (Pitt-Johnstown) in the 1st place match (Decision 11-6).

Taylor Misuna, 149 – Received a bye in the championship round one, defeated Daniel Romero (Wheeling Jesuit) in the quarterfinal (Major Decision 16-2), defeated Logan Grass (Mercyhurst) in the semifinal (Decision 4-0), defeated George McGuire (Gannon) in the 1st place match (Decision 9-6).

Fernando Silva, 157 – Defeated Derek Schmidt (Alderson Broaddus) in the championship round one (Fall 1:36), defeated Michael O'Brien (Kutztown) in the quarterfinal (Fall 6:14), defeated TJ Fabian (Long Island) in the semifinal (Decision 8-2), lost to Cody Law (Pitt-Johnstown) in the 1st place match (Major Decision 16-4).

Anthony Dailey, 165 – Defeated TJ Lambiotte (Ohio Valley) in the championship round one (Major Decision 14-3), lost to Nate Ross (Gannon) in the quarterfinal (Fall 2:54), defeated Tyler Seliga (Seton Hill) in the consolation round two (Tech Fall 16-0), defeated Chad Haegele (Kutztown) in the consolation round three (Decision 8-4), lost to Shane Ruhnke (Millersville) in the consolation semifinal (Major Decision 18-7), defeated Michael Raccioppi (East Stroudsburg) in the 5th place match (Decision 9-4), lost to Keegan Driscoll (Wheeling Jesuit) in the 4th place match (Sudden Victory-1 8-6).

Tony Vezzetti, 184 – Received a bye in the championship round one, defeated Alex Delp (Pitt-Johnstown) in the quarterfinal (Decision 9-6), lost to Dakota DesLauriers (Mercyhurst) in the semifinal (Decision 10-4), defeated Ethan Cole Ritchie (Alderson Broaddus) in the consolation semifinal (Major Decision 13-2), defeated Aidan Pasiuk (Wheeling Jesuit) in the 3rd place match (Decision 7-4).

Logan Hall, 197 – Lost to Wes Phipps (Mercyhurst) in the championship round one (Decision 6-1), defeated Logan McGinn (Long Island) in the consolation round one (Decision 7-3), lost to Colton Dull (Millersville) in the consolation round two (Fall 3:21).

Kameron Teacher, 285 – Received a bye in the championship round one, defeated Jenard Rosemond (American International) in the quarterfinal (Tech Fall 15-0), defeated Nick Budd (Gannon) in the semifinal (Decision 3-2), defeated Damon Sims Jr. (Pitt-Johnstown) in the 1st place match (Medical Forfeit).
