SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Falcons continued their winning ways over the Urbana Blue Knights, as they took off in the second half, winning their eighth consecutive game, 65-55, on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons (15-12, 14-8 MEC) finish the regular season with an eight game winning streak. They also went 14-2 over their final 16 games. The Blue Knights (6-20, 3-19 MEC) end the regular season with a two game losing streak. Urbana went 2-8 over their final 10 games.

Kelsey Miller and
Terrina Robinson were honored before their final home game and Miller was able to get the Falcons on the board with a layup at the 9:46-mark in the first quarter.
Notre Dame would start the game on a 9-2 run as Miller hit a three-pointer with 6:22 to go in the first quarter. However, Urbana responded with a 9-2 run of own and tied the game at 11 with 4:40 remaining.
NDC held onto a very slim lead, 17-16, as the two teams ended the first quarter.
The second quarter was very low scoring, as Urbana and Notre Dame combined to score 18 points. A layup by Erin Morrow at the 3:01-mark in the second quarter, gave the Blue Knights their first lead of the game, 24-23.
Neither team scored in the final two minutes of the half, and at the halftime break, Urbana led NDC, 26-25.
In the first half, for the Falcons, Miller had 11 points and five rebounds while her teammates,
Jessie Stout and Robinson both added six points. Notre Dame shot 42-percent from the field. Sylvia Hudson had eight points for Urbana. Morrow and Megan Beachy both had seven points. Urbana had nine steals and NDC stole the ball eight times.
In the third quarter, Urbana opened the scoring with a 10-2 run on the Falcons, putting the Blue Knights up, 36-27, their largest lead of the game. That was before Notre Dame's defense shut down the Urbana and the offense was able to carry the team back into the lead.
After falling down by nine points with 3:55 to go in the third,
Seina Adachi hit a layup and was fouled. She would make her free throw to convert on the three-point play. That would be the beginning of an incredible 29-0 run by the Falcons through the third and fourth quarters. Miller knocked down a free throw at the 6:02-mark in the fourth quarter, putting the Falcons up by 20 points, 56-36.
During the offensive onslaught, Miller and Adachi gave Notre Dame nine points, each.
Urbana would keep it close as they marched back with a 9-1 run, cutting the deficit to 12 points, 57-45, after Stefanie Davis knocked down a three with 4:17 remaining in the game.
However, the Falcons were able to put them away down the stretch.
For the Falcons, Adachi had 15 points in the second half and Miller added 11, of her 22 points, in the second half.
Jessie Stout ended the game with 11 points and eight rebounds. NDC shot 42-percent from the field.
For Urbana, Hudson recorded 16 points and seven rebounds. Morrow had 13 points and seven rebounds and Davis added 11 points. The Blue Knights shot 47-percent, overall, but only went 3-for-16 (19-percent) from behind the three-point line.
The Falcons are seeded fourth in the Mountain East Conference Tournament in Charleston, W.Va. They will play No. 5 seed Fairmont State University, on March 2, at 8:15 p.m.
