SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Notre Dame College continues to play top Mountain East Conference opponents as they fell to Shepherd University, who is tied for second in the conference, by a score of 3-0 on Saturday.
The Rams (20-6, 8-4), who have won three straight games and five of their last six games, earned the advantage in first set 25-12 and the second set 25-19. The Falcons (13-18, 4-10 MEC) made the final set close, but ended up falling 25-23.
Shepherd had a .279 attack percentage, 68 digs and 43 kills. NDC was held to just 26 kills, as a team, and had 47 digs.
Senior
Melissa Maczuzak had nine kills and 10 points for Notre Dame. Sophomore
Ali Kaeberlein added 11 digs and sophomore
Paige Staudacher gave the Falcons 20 assists.
Peyton Lindblad gave the Rams 13 kills, 18 points and an attack percentage of .357 while Amanda Snowden had 12.5 points. Imani Major had 15 digs, Cambriea Hill added 18 digs and Nicole Murray had sic block assists.
"We just didn't play well throughout the match," head coach
Troy Haught said. "We had some good moments but couldn't keep it consistent."
Notre Dame is going to travel to Urbana University to play on November 7. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
