Lauren Macer said, after the win against Concord, that he team wants to 'cause chaos' for opponents. So far this season, the Falcons have recorded double-digit steals in three of their four games, including an NDC Division II record 24 against Mercyhurst in the season opener. In the 2016-17 season, Notre Dame was 13-3 in the 16 games in which they recorded 10 or more steals. This season the team is 2-1.
Noting the Cavaliers: UVa-Wise has had success getting to the charity stripe this season, especially in the last two games. The Cavaliers have attempted 90, and converted on 61, free throws over their last 80 minutes played. During that span, their opponents have only attempted 41. Wise has also done well on second-chance scoring with 62 points on second chance shots this year, compared to NDC's 38. The Cavs rank third in the MEC with 17.75 offensive rebounds per game.
Noting the Wildcats: Daemen may face an uphill battle against the Falcons as NDC is 19-2 against schools with feline mascots since joining the NCAA Division II ranks. The Wildcats run through senior guard Sarah Saba who is the lone Daemen player averaging over 10 points. Saba leads her team in every major category with 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game along with six steals and five blocks on the year. She also leads the team in shooting percentage (.451), but struggled from distance as she has only made two of her 12 three-point attempts.
