Box Score FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Notre Dame College had to play five extra minutes but they got their first win of the season over St. Augustine's University by a score of 99-95 on Saturday night.

Drew Scarberry and hit two free throws for St. Augustine's.
NDC put together their first offensive scoring run as they were down 16-13 with 12:53 remaining in the half. The Falcons would score the next 11 points with back-to-back three pointers by freshman

Kyauta Taylor hit a layup and a three. During the run, the SAU Falcons missed four shots and turned the ball over, once.
St. Augustine's took the lead back (31-30) at the 2:08-minute mark when Quinton Morrow hit a three point shot. Morrow would knock down another triple and the SAU Falcons went into the halftime break, leading 37-35.
Almost immediately, the two teams started scoring following the trip to the locker room. Scarberry hit a three at the 19:36 mark. In the first five minutes of the second half, the two teams combined for four lead changes and one tie.
With 12:15 to go, Scarberry hit a three pointer and was fouled. He converted on the free throw, which put the Falcons into the lead, 55-54.
With 39-seconds remaining in regulation Parks split a pair of free throws to push the NDC advantage to three points, 78-75. However, the SAU Falcons scored five straight points which included a dunk and a layup by Quincy January. January made a free throw following a foul, by junior
Ja'Sean Lewis, to complete a three-point play. It give St. Augustine's an 80-78 lead with four seconds left.
With just two seconds remaining, Morrow fouled Scarberry, who then converted from the free throw line, tying the game at 80 and sending the contest into overtime.
After the Falcons missed their first two free throws in overtime, Lewis hit a layup, Scarberry dunked on a fastbreak and Lewis dunked following a Taylor steal and pass.
St. Augustine's did not go away, but could not capture the lead. Notre Dame helped themselves by making their free throws down the stretch.
"It was a total team effort, especially with two starters injured and out for the game," said head coach
Tim Koenig. "There were contributions up and down the roster today. We took care of the ball, made crucial free throws and executed better."
For NDC, Scarberry scored a team-high 28 points, with 15 coming in the second half. He shot 7-for-12 from three point land. Taylor added 25 points and eight assists. Lewis gave the NDC Falcons nine points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and two blocks. Megins (14 points) and Parks (12 points) both scored in double-digits off of the bench. The team shot 49-percent in the game, including 56-percent in the second half.
January had 25 points and 14 rebounds, while going 9-for-12 on the court for the SAU. D.J. Harrison recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds. Gathright had 19 points and Kenneth Collins scored 18 points. The SAU Falcons shot 46-percent in the game.
Notre Dame will travel to Rochester, N.Y. to play Roberts Wesleyan College on November 15. The game will start at 7 p.m.
