ASHLAND, Ohio – The Notre Dame Falcons took the first points of the night and never looked back as they defeated the Ashland Eagles, 22-15, in a road wrestling dual on Friday evening.
After defeating the Eagles last season at home, the Falcons were victorious in six of the 10 bouts in the 2017 rematch.
Ivan McClay got the Falcons off to a phenomenal start by winning his match against Dylan Shockey with a Tech Fall, giving the Falcons an early 5-0 advantage at 125 lbs.
Drew Walker (141 lbs) won a major decision over Chandler Minnard, 12-3.
Juwon Edmond (157 lbs) was able to defeat Garrett Hall with a major decision, 10-1. Both Falcons gave the team four points on their way to a victory.
Notre Dame will wrestle next at the Purple Raider Open on Sunday, Jan. 15.
