Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Notre Dame College softball team continued its 2016 Florida Trip on Tuesday morning, dropping a doubleheader to Missouri-St. Louis (5-0) and Saint Anselm (2-0).
GAME ONEMissouri St. Louis 5, Notre Dame 0After falling behind 5-0, the Falcons looked to start a late rally in the seventh inning. Pinch-hitter
Sarah Depp hit a one-out single, giving the Falcons offense a bit of a spark.
Shelby Stephens continued her recent hot streak, smacking a single to put two runners on base for the Falcons. A passed ball allowed both Depp and Stephens to advance into scoring position.
A walk to
Maria Vanadia later loaded the bases with two outs, but that's as close as the Falcons would come, falling 5-0 to Missouri St. Louis.
GAME TWO
Saint Anselm 2, Notre Dame 0Ashley Pokraka pitched a standout game for the Falcons, allowing just six hits and two runs in seven full innings of work. Pokraka also racked up four strikeouts, but the Falcons were unable to back her up on offense.
Amy Hoover finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate while
Erin Calhoun went 1-for-2 with a walk.
The Falcons fell to Saint Anselm by a final score of 2-0 to conclude Tuesday's action.
NDC will return to action on Thursday, March 3 as they take on Seton Hill University at 1 pm and Lewis University at 3 pm.
