Leading the way for the Falcons on the women's side was Kaitlin Wright, who picked up first-place finishes in the 200 Butterfly (2:20.06), 400 IM (4:59.69) and 500 Freestyle (5:27.82) events. Not only did Wright win each of the three events, but her impressive finish times were her season-best in each event while also ranking Top-10 in the Appalachian Swimming Conference.

In the 200 Freestyle, Emma Lyda also posted a season-best time of 2:17.17, finishing fourth in the event.

Amanda Cameron and Lauren Speaks also posted season-best finish times in Saturday's meet against Malone. Cameron finished the 100 Backstroke in 1:07.53, good for third place and a season-best time; Speaks posted season-best finishes in both the 100 Breaststroke (1:12.82) and 100 Butterfly (1:08.34), finishing second and third, respectively.

"Through our first round of dual meets, we've had a lot of good swims and our athletes should be confident as we head into our invitational at Ohio Wesleyan next week," said head coach Mark Dziak. "We are going to give the team a little rest and see where that takes us."

While the Falcons fell short on the men's side by a narrow margin, they also had a number of impressive performances - both individual and team.

In the 50 Freestyle, David Souza placed first for NDC while Jorden Welton took third in the same event, finishing in 21.71 and 23.48 seconds, respectively.

"The men won a handful of events, but the depth of Malone proved to be too much," said Dziak. "I feel that if we had more guys available to us, the meet would have been much different."

Just as Kaitlin Wright won the 200 Butterfly on the women's side, Austin Childers also placed first in the same event on the men's side. Childers won the 200 Butterfly with a finish time of 2:07.71, winning by more than three seconds.

Childers also won the 100 Butterfly event, finishing in 56.48, seconds, while Ryan Sorenson won the 100 Backstroke with a finish time of 1:01.02 to rack up more first-place finishes for the Falcons.

The Falcons won both Relays, 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle, to cap an impressive early-season meet of swimming. In the 200 Medley, the quarter of Souza, Sorenson, Welton and Richie Bui finished in 1:43.82 to place first. In the 400 Freestyle, Souza, Sorenson, Welton and Childers won the event with a finish time of 3:21.52.

"Despite Malone's depth, winning the two relays means a lot to me as a coach," said Dziak.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the two-day Corbiere-Merion Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
