SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- The No.1 ranked Notre Dame College wrestling team defeated the visiting No. 9 Lake Erie Storm on Sunday afternoon in Murphy Gymnasium, 32-8. The Falcons won eight of 10 matches on the day as they picked up another dual meet win, beating the Storm at home.
After losing at Lake Erie last season, the Falcons came out with added motivation to pick up a win over the Storm, and did just that.
NDC opened the meet with a 6-0 lead following a forfeit from Lake Erie at 125 lbs. At 133 lbs,
David Bavery eeked out a 4-2 decision over Austin Williams to push NDC's lead to 9-0.
Cobey Fehr, who was
recently named D2Wrestle National Wrestler of the Week, then earned a pinfall win over Joshua Davis, giving the Falcons a commanding 15-0 lead early in the meet.Â

Joey Davis won via Major Decision 14-0 at 184 lbs, improving to 118-0 in his career. Former National Champions
Jonatan Rivera (157 lbs) and
Garrett Lineberger (197 lbs) also picked up clutch wins for the Falcons en route to the 32-8 meet win over the Storm.
The Falcons will return to action on Friday, Jan. 29 at home against West Liberty in NDC's final home meet of the season. Wrestling is set to begin at 7 p.m. in Murphy Gymnasium.
