Full ResultsFAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Notre Dame College men's and women's swimming diving teams took to the road on Saturday, Jan. 16 to compete against the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons. NDC fell short on both the men's and women's sides in tight contests, losing 149-89 and 136-82, respectively.Â

James Fittro scored points early for NDC in the fourth event of the day, competing in the 1000 Freestyle. Fittro placed second in the event with a finish time of 10:39.25, scoring four points for the Falcons.
Andrew Wolens placed fourth in the same event, scoring two more points for NDC.
In the 200 Freestyle, it was
Hunter Bell who picked up a second place finish for NDC. Bell finished the 200 Freestyle in 1:57.49, adding four more points to NDC's tally.
Sean Murphy was close behind, finishing in fourth (2:02.84) to score two more points.
Later in the 50 Freestyle,
Jeffrey Saltzgaber placed second with an impressive finish time of 22.88 seconds. Less than one second behind were teammates Mitch Schall and
Jorden Welton, who tied for fourth place at 23.77 seconds, earning a combined three points.
Schall then picked up a second place finish in the 100 Freestyle (53.69s) before leading a Falcons quarter to first place in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
The quartet of Schall, Welton, Bell and Saltzgaber combined for a 1:33.34 finish time in the event, scoring 11 team points to aid the Falcons effort. However, NDC fell short by a final score of 149-89.
The Falcons return to action on Friday, Jan. 22 at home against Tiffin University. Competition is set to begin at 6 pm.
Women's Swimming & DivingFairmont State 136, Notre Dame 82
Katie Wright picked up an impressive first place finish in the 100 Butterfly in 1:04.17, over four seconds faster than second place. Wright's first-place finish also scored four team points for the Falcons.
Sarah Tolson earned a second place finish in the 50 Freestyle, finishing in 28.00 seconds to score four team points. Not far behind was NDC's
Danielle Summers (33.92s) and
Carrington Lisser (35.59s), who scored a combined three points for NDC as well.
Tolson also placed second in the 100 Freestyle (1:01.36) to score another for points for the Falcons.
The Falcons scored 11 team points in the 200 Freestyle Relay as the quarter of Tolson, Wright, Summers and
Amanda Green finished in first place with a finish time of 1:58.89. However, NDC fell short by a final meet score of 136-82.
NDC will return to action on Friday, Jan. 22 at home against Tiffin University. Competition is set to begin at 6 pm.
