Box Score Mountain East Conference Tournament Bracket (Begins Tuesday)SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- It was Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Murphy Gymnasium as the Falcons played host to the visiting Urbana Blue Knights. The Mountain East Conference showdown also marked the final game of the 2014-15 regular season, and it was the Falcons who came out on top, winning by a final score of 88-77.Â

Courtney Palmer - before the game, as each athlete was cheered on by family and friends alike.
When the game began, both teams found themselves tied at 10 just six minutes into the game. However, 3-pointer from
Martha Nagbe broke the tie and put the Falcons on top early in the first half.
Minutes later with just eight minutes remaining in the first half,
Hope Thorbahn was assisted by Nagbe on a lay-up, giving NDC a 28-24 lead over Urbana. However, the visiting Blue Knights refused to simply roll over.
Urbana used a 14-9 advantage over the next four minutes to steal the lead back from the Falcons, 38-37, with 3:28 before halftime. However, another 3-pointer from Nagbe capped a quick 7-2 run by NDC, giving the Falcons a 45-40 lead with 1:16 left in the first half.
At halftime, the score remained tight between both sides as the Falcons narrowly led, 46-45.
Less than 30 seconds into the second half,
Kelsey Miller scored a lay-up to ignite the Falcons early. Nagbe then made a pair of free throws and drained a 3-pointer for the Falcons, making the score 53-49 with 17:55 remaining.
After struggling to separate themselves from the Blue Knights in the first half, the Falcons used a 13-2 run to take a commanding 66-51 lead over Urbana with 12:33 left on the clock.
Urbana scored a lay-up to end the Falcons' run, but Ritz answered with a lay-up of her own, pushing NDC's lead back to 15.Â
With 8:28 remaining in the game, Miller scored a basket to push NDC's lead to 17 points, 76-59, their biggest of the game to that point. From there on out, the Falcons continued to apply defensive pressure and maintain their double-digit lead, winning by a final score of 88-77.
With the win, the Falcons finish the regular season with an overall record of 17-11, including a 13-9 mark against MEC competition.
NDC will now prepare for the first round of the upcoming Mountain East Conference Tournament, which begins on Tuesday.
The sixth-seeded Falcons will host West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday night at Murphy Gymnasium in the first round of the MEC Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., with the men's game against West Virginia State following at 7:30 p.m.
