Box Score OXFORD, Pa. -- Playing their final game before winter vacation, the Falcons traveled to eastern Pennsylvania to take on the host Lincoln Lions in a non-conference matchup on Friday night. Five Falcons scored in double-digits as NDC cruised to 94-79 road victory over the Lions.
NDC was led by
Tyree Gaiter and
Will Vorhees, who scored 26 points and 24 points, respectively. Gaiter finished the night with 26 points, nine assists, five rebounds and five steals. Meanwhile, Vorhees finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocks for the Falcons.
The Falcons used a strong shooting performance in the first half (54.5 FG%) to score 48 points in the first half alone, leading Lincoln 48-39 at the halftime intermission.
Offensively, Gaiter made 3-of-4 shots from deep in the first half. Defensively, the Falcons had six blocks in the first half alone, and NDC opened the second half with momentum on their side.
A slam dunk from
Ja'Sean Lewis capped a 7-0 run to open the half for the Falcons, who suddenly led by 18 points, 57-39, early in the second half.
Just five minutes into the second half, NDC extended its lead to 22 ponts, 66-44, following a lay-up from Gaiter.
NDC refused to take its foot off the pedal in the second half, keeping a healthy double-digit lead on the Lions for the entirety of the half. The Falcons' defense also stepped up, holding the Lions to 36.7 percent shooting (11-30 FG) in the second half.
From there, NDC held on for a 94-79 win over Lincoln. With the win, the Falcons improve to 7-3 on the season.
NDC will return to action on Monday, Jan. 4 on the road at Glenville State College in a Mountain East Conference matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
