SALEM, Va. – The Notre Dame College softball team dropped a 9-0 decision to UVA-Wise on Friday evening in Salem Va. in the Mountain East Conference tournament.

The Falcons (24-29-1) who are the sixth seed in the tournament dropped their first game of the tournament to the second seeded Cavaliers  (35-14).

The Cavaliers took an early lead scoring twice in the bottom of the second and once in the third to lead 3-0 after three innings. The Cavaliers would hen score six in the bottom of the fourth and limit the Falcons to just one hot to claim a 9-0 victory in five innings. 

With the loss the Falcons move to 2-1 in the MEC tournament and move on to play the winner of Wheeling Jesuit vs. Concord game on Saturday May 3. at 5 p.m. in what will be an elimination game.
