CLERMONT, Fla. – The Notre Dame College softball team opened their season with an impressive 2-1 record on day one of the Dot Richardson Spring Games at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.
The Falcons opened the day with a 3-1 victory over Lock Haven, scoring in the third and fifth innings. At the top of the third
Christine Camp singled to center field before advancing to second and then third on wild pitches,
Kelsey Coleman would then bring her home, grounding out for the RBI.
Lock Haven drew level in the bottom of the fourth before and two run fifth inning gave the Falcons a decisive lead. A leadoff triple from
Maria Revello put her in scoring position, and she came home on
Christine Camp single to center field. Coleman would ground out into a double play, before a
Rachelle Miller single followed by a
Jessica Cavallero double to center field secured the third run for the Falcons.
Ashley Hall (1-0) came away with the win for the Falcons. She surrendered just a run on two hits, and struck out six over four solid innings.
In the second game of the day the Falcons used a two run seventh inning to come from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire university.
The Falcons trailed conceded a run in the first and trailed until the seventh inning.

Nicole Spuhler opened the seventh inning with singles, before
Maria Revello batted in the equalizing run. A
Christine Camp single to center field brought Spuhler home and the Falcons held a 2-1 lead.
Ashley Hall (2-0) got the win for the Falcons with four solid innings, surrendering just 2 hits and not conceding a run.
In the third and final game of the day the Falcons fell 4-0 to the University of Mary. The Falcons were unable to get the bats going as they had in the days previous game as they were shutout by the Marauders. University of Mary scored once in the second and three times in the sixth inning to claim the 4-0victory.
The Falcons will continue the Dot Richardson Spring Games tomorrow with games against Post University and Florida Tech tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
