SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame College women's basketball dropped a 70-57 decision to the visiting Pioneers from Glenville State at Murphy Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons (13-9, 10-8 MEC) produced a strong defensive performance limiting the Pioneers (23-2, 18-1 MEC) to a season low 25 points in the first half and their third-lowest scoring performance of the season.

Lauren Langenderfer three-pointer and a
Molly Ritz layup gave the Falcons a 5-0 run and tied the game a 17-17 with 10:32 remaining in the first half. Glenville State, however would close out the first half with an 8-0 run to lead 25-17 at half time.
The Pioneers started the second half with two three-pointers to lead 31-21 with 17:05 remaining. The Falcons would cut the lead to seven (34-27) on the back of back-to-back baskets from
Danielle Ledrich. The Falcons would stay in touch throughout the second half but were unable to prevent the Pioneers claiming a 70-57 victory.
The Falcons were led by
Danielle Ledrich and
Martha Nagbe who had 16 points a piece. In addition to her 16 points Nagbe pulled in 10 rebounds to claim her third double-double of the season. Ledrich was 7-of-10 from the field and 2-of-4 from three-point range to record her season high 16 points.
The Pioneers were led by Kenyona Simmons who had 21 points.
The Falcons defensive performance was highlighted by limiting the No.1 scoring team in the nation (102.4 points per game) to their third-lowest scoring performance of the season. The Falcons also limited the Pioneers to only 6 three-pointers, their lowest total of the season.
The Falcons now travel to West Virginia State to take on the Yellow Jackets on Thursday, February 20 at 5:30 p.m.
