GLENVILLE, W.Va -- The Notre Dame College women's basketball fell 125-89 to a Glenville State ranked twelfth in NCAA Division II Women's Basketball.
The Falcons produced a strong first half and were in touch with the fast paced Pioneers, trailing 48-45 at half time. Glenville had claimed a 12 point lead, 19-7, at the 16:37 mark of the first half but the Falcons would fight back to trail 21-19 at the 12:54 mark. The half would finish in a similar manner with the Pioneers pulling away before the Falcons fought back to trail 48-45 at half time.
Glenville State used a fast start to the second half to secure the game, pulling away on the back of some sharp shooting from three point range. The Pioneers shot 55.6 percent from three point range in the second half making 15 three pointers.
The Falcons were led by sophomore guard
Martha Nagbe and senior forward
Erin Entinghe who had 14 points each. Joining the pair in double digits were junior forward
Molly Ritz and sophomore
Lauren Langenderfer who had 11 and 10 points respectively. On top of her 10 points Ritz pulled in 11 rebounds to record her third consecutive double double.
Glenville State were led by Ginny Mills who had 30 points for the Pioneers. Ashleigh Fossett had 17 points and Kenyona Simmons had 12 points.
The Falcons held a 52-50 advantage in rebounds but gave up a costly 36 turnovers.
The Falcons move to 8-5 on the season with a 5-4 record in Mountain East Conference play.
The Falcons have now return home to take on the visiting Blue Knights from Urbana University on Thur. 23 January at 5:30 p.m. at Murphy Gymnasium.
