Falcons fall in finale

Shooting woes lead to loss as season comes to a close

Box Score
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame fell to Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.), 65-48, in a contest that marked the Falcons' season finale on Saturday.

The visiting Trojans (19-7) held NDC to just 21 first-half points en route to the 17-point win and season sweep in the two-game season series between the Falcons (13-13) and Trojans.

With the home loss, Notre Dame closed out its season with a winning percentage at an even .500 (13-13) despite the team losing 11 of its first 13 games.

Notre Dame and Trevecca split the first 24 points of the game, but the visiting Trojans then went on a 12-5 run to open up a significant lead. A solid TNU defense frustrated a Falcon offense, which went just 7-of-29 (24.1 percent) from the floor over the opening 20 minutes.

NDC went 0-for-10 from three-point-land and went into halftime trailing, 33-21.

The Falcons' shooting woes continued in the second half, with NDC knocking down just 7-of-28 shots from the floor (25 percent). The Trojans came out strong in the second, opening up a 17-point lead by the 13-minute mark.

A mid-half surge brought the home five within 14, but they would get no closer over the balance of the contest.
