Box Score
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons won their home opener on Monday evening, defeating Ohio Midwestern, 114-65.

For the Falcons (2-4) the victory was their second in their last three games, and marks the sixth year in a row that they've won their home opener.  The loss for the Rams (5-5) was their second in as many meetings against the Falcons.

Early on, the Rams were able to hang with the Falcons, as the game was tied at 16-16, five minutes into the contest.  However, Notre Dame caught fire, and scored 19 of the game's next 21 points to establish a 35-18 advantage at the 8:36-mark.

Notre Dame's lead was never in question through the remainder of the opening half, as they used a sharp shooting performance to maintain a double digit lead, and went into the locker room with a 55-35 lead at the half.

The first half was dominated by Tyree Gaiter, who had 30 points, nailing 9-of-12 (75.0-percent) shots from the floor, and he cashed in at the charity stripe as well, making good on 8-of-9 (88.8-percent) of his free throws.

Overall, the Falcons shot the lights out in the opening stanza, shooting 56.3-percent (18-for-32) from the floor, and had no issues at the free throw line either, making good on 82.4-percent (14-for-17) of their shots from the charity stripe. Their pressure defense triggered nine first half Ram turnovers as well.

The Rams didn't offer much resistance in the second half either, as the Falcons continued their sharp shooting exhibition, and found their stroke from beyond the arc, hitting 58.3-percent (7-for-12) from 3-point land, as they surpassed the century mark for the first time this season.

Gaiter didn't have to play much in the second half because of NDC's incredible advantage, and finished the game with a season high, 36 points, and added six assists.  Geovonte Rose delivered his first double-double of the season with 12 points, 10 rebounds and a trio of blocks.

Three other Falcons scored in double figures as well.  Lawrence DeArmond scored 19 on the evening, while shooting 63.6-percent (7-for-11) from the floor. Jarvis Huntley poured in 14, and Dylan Hickoff added 11.

Shots were falling for the Falcons all night long, as they shot 54.4-percent (37-for-68) from the field, and were able to dial up from long distance with ease, hitting on 48.0-percent (12) of their 25 3-pointers on the night as well.

Notre Dame is in action again on Thursday, Dec. 5, when they play host to No. 2 West Liberty at Murphy Gymnasium.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
