Falcons Fall to #12 Harding in Hawaii

Honolulu, Hawaii — The Notre Dame College Women's Basketball team fell to a 85-49 defeat against the Bisons from Harding University (Ark.) in the Oahu Classic Tournament on Wednesday evening, early Thursday morning on mainland USA.

The Falcons (5-2) faced a Harding team that were ranked No.12 in the nation (USA TODAY Sports DIVISION II TOP 25 COACHES' POLL) going into the game.

The Bisons used a run of 9 points to claim a 23-12 lead with 5:00 remaining in the first half. The Falcons responded with a 7 point run to get to 23-19 before Harding used a10 point run to close out the half and claim a 33-19 halftime lead.

The Falcons continued to fight throughout the second half but were unable to keep up with the Bisons who claimed a 85-49 victory.

The Falcons were led by Erin Entinghe who had 11 points and 5 rebounds. Martha Nagbe had 10 points and 4 rebounds for the Falcons

The Bisons were led by Shana holmes and Kristen Celsor who had 19 and 17 points respectively. The Bisons move to 9-0 on the season.

The game was the first for the Falcons women's basketball program in Hawaii. The game was also the first game between members of the Mountain East Conference and the Great American Conference, two of the newest conferences in NCAA Division II.

The Falcons will remain in Hawaii for two more days and will take on Lake Superior State University on Friday Dec. 20 at 1:30 a.m. EST (8:30 p.m. HST) in the final game of the Oahu Classic Tournament.
