SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame College women's basketball begin a big week in the programs history with a trip to Athens, Ohio on Saturday Dec. 14 to take on the Bobcats from Ohio University in an Exhibition Game. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 11 a.m. in the Convocation Center.

The game versus the Bobcats will be the Falcon women's basketball programs first against an NCAA Division I opponent. The Falcons come into the game riding a three game winning streak that has included wins over Bluefield College, West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit. The Falcons are 5-1 on the season and an unbeaten 4-0 at home.  The Falcons have been led by sophomore guard Martha Nagbe who is averaging 21.3 points per game.

Ohio University are 3-4 on the season and are 1-0 at the Convocation Center following an opening night 94-88 victory over Xavier.  The Bobcats are led in scoring by sophomore Kiyanna Black who is averaging 13 points per game.

"We are eager to head down to Athens to compete in a Division I atmosphere against Ohio University" said Head Women's Basketball Coach Katie Hine. "It will be a good test to see how our team will respond to this level of competition."

Following the trip to Athens the Falcons will head back up to Cleveland to hop on a flight to Hawaii. In Hawaii the Falcons will play two games in three days as part of the Oahu Classic. The Falcons will play No.15 Harding University on Tuesday Dec. 17 at 8:30 p.m. HST (1:30 a.m. EST). The Falcons will then play Lake Superior State University on Thursday Dec. 19 at 8:30 p.m. HST (1:30 a.m. EST).

"We are certainly excited to make the journey to Hawaii over our holiday break" said Head Women's Basketball Coach Katie Hine. "We look at this process as a lesson in life for our players that I think parallels the lessons we try to convey everyday on the court.  Our players have worked tirelessly to raise their portion of the trip, and with everything they do as a Falcon, it is nice to see their hard work and dedication pay off.  Obviously we are looking forward to spending time in such a beautiful place; however, we recognize huge opportunities to play Lake Superior State as an in-region contest and Harding University as they are ranked in the Top 25 nationally."
