NDC drops Cedarville, 2-1, in OIC action

Box Score
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Allysa Lancaster allowed just one run on three hits, and Notre Dame scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth in a 2-1 win over Cedarville on Thursday.

Lancaster fanned seven without issuing a walk in NDC's first game in Ohio Independent Championships play.  The junior from Magnolia, Ohio, allowed just one unearned run, which the Lady Jackets (34-20) scored in the fourth.

The Falcons (17-18) scored solo runs in the fourth and sixth in dispatching Cedarville in just one hour-and- two minutes.  Freshman Jamie Clausen doubled in Notre Dame's run in the fourth.  In the sixth inning, Felisha Jones singled and then came around to score on a throwing error by Cedarville third baseman Shannon Muldowndey.

The Blue & White earned the victory despite collecting just four hits in the game.  The game marked NDC's first since April 21.

The Falcons are now scheduled to play Urbana on Friday at 11 a.m. in day two of the end-of-season tournament for independent Ohio programs.
