Falcons stung 80-73 at Cedarville

Ledrich continues hot shooting in first start

Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Sophomore Danielle Ledrich led a trio of Falcons in double-figures with 16 points as the Notre Dame dropped a 80-73 decision to Cedarville on Saturday afternoon. (Box)

Ledrich shot a blistering 80 percent (4-for-5) from behind the 3-point line and a perfect 4-of-4 from the foul line to score her team-high 16 points for Notre Dame (7-10). The New Philadelphia, Ohio, native was joined by senior Alex Dackin and junior Lauren Macer with 15 and 12 points respectively as the loan Falcons in double figures. Following her career-high 13 point performance against Urbana, Brittany Reddy contributed a solid nine points from the bench and freshman Molly Ritz pulled down a game-high eight rebounds in her first collegiate start for NDC.
 
Kayla Jenerette scored a game-high 24 points for Cedarville (9-6) while Kara Cayton provided 17 points and a game-high nine assists.  
 
Notre Dame opened a 6-3 lead after back-to-back 3-pointers by Ledrich at 18:15.
 
The teams traded baskets till the 13:26 mark when Jenerette nailed a three of her own to give the hosts a 20-17 lead.
 
Dackin converted a pair of foul shots to give Notre Dame their last lead of the half, 34-31 with 4:14 remaining.
 
The Lady Jackets would build a four point (43-39) lead at the break.
 
The Falcons came within 57-56 with 12:11 remaining in the second period before Cedarville pulled away with a 14-2 run.
 
Ledrich's fourth and final 3-pointer with 5:26 ended the Lady Jackets' run but the Falcons could not get closer than nine before falling 83-70.
