Findlay takes Notre Dame down 58-42

Macer's game-high 19 points not enough for Falcons in loss

Box Score FINDLAY, Ohio – Lauren Macer scored a game-high 19 points and Tiffany Adkins and Erin Entinghe collected a game-high eight rebounds, but a late Findlay surge gave the Oilers a 58-42 victory over the Falcons Wednesday night at Croy Gymnasium. (Box)
 
Macer was 8-of-13 from the field, including a 3-for7 from 3-pointland. She added three rebounds and a team high four assists. Sophomore guard Danielle Ledrich scored 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting off the bench.
 
Entinghe and Adkins collected eight rebounds apiece for the Falcons, who trailed 36-35 on the boards. Entinghe and Adkins also grabbed three offensive caroms, respectively, part of NDC's 12 offensive boards.

Findlay got 15 points and seven rebounds from Kayla Brown, 13 points from Clare Aubry and five assists and five steals from Saira House.
 
The Falcons trailed by eight when Clare Aubry netted a 3-point basket. Ledrich made a jumper and Macer's layup brought NDC within four, 25-21, with 1:13 remaining.
 
Macer blocked Ashley Andrews before streaking to the offensive end where she knocked down a 3-pointer to bring the Blue & White within one, 25-24, with 37 seconds left in the opening half.
 
The Falcons would never get any closer, and the lead floated between six and eight points through the opening 10 minutes of the second half.
 
Keleigh Kenny's layup gave the Oilers' its largest lead, 56-36, with 1:33 remaining.
 
Notre Dame takes on Hillsdale Friday, Nov. 19. Tip time at Murphy Gymnasium is 6 p.m.



NOTES FROM THE NEST….
 
On a night when her older brother, Darlington Nagbe learned his juggling golazo on July 2 against Sporting Kansas City was voted Major League Soccer's 2011 AT&T Goal of the Year, freshman guard Martha Nagbe made her first career start for Notre Dame. The Lakewood, Ohio, native who scored eight points and pulled down nine rebounds in her debut, provided three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
