PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons were shutout for the fourth time this season on Friday afternoon, as they dropped a 9-0 decision to Northwestern Ohio, and fell to 0-5 in the American Mideast Conference standings.
The Falcons (8-9, 0-5) had won three out of their last four games, but were unable to find the win column on Friday, as their conference losing streak continued. Despite the loss, Notre Dame is still above the .500 mark in April, going 3-2 this month.
Notre Dame was held to just seven match points in doubles play, losing 8-2, 8-4, and 8-1. Things didn't improve much for the Falcons in singles play, as they were defeated in two sets, in every singles match.
#Jonathan Morris# had his four game winning streak snapped, as he went down in two sets, 6-0, 6-0 to Evan Carr. Despite the loss, Morris is still 10-7 on the season. #Jimmy Goodwin# (9-8) lost for the first time in over two weeks, as he fell 7-5, 6-1 in the second singles match played. #Cory Meek# (0-3) participated in his first singles match since February 28, and lost 7-5, 6-3.
Notre Dame will participate in the AMC Championship on Friday, April 30. The match will take place in Cedarville, Ohio, but a start time has not been determined.
