CANTON, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Falcons showed signs of improvement on Tuesday afternoon, but still fell short, and saw their losing streak reach four, as they fell to Malone 6-3.
During the four game streak, Notre Dame (5-7) has failed to secure a victory in doubles play. Malone defeated NDC 8-4, 8-5, and 8-1 in doubles. Notre Dame did play well in singles competition, winning three matches, their most in singles play since defeating Captial 6-3 on March 4.
#Jimmy Goodwin# (6-6) came away with his second victory in a row, beating Nate Davis in three sets, 4-6, 7-5, 10-8. Junior #Andy Sherman# (6-5) scored NDC's second victory, defeating Nathanial Rodd 7-6 (2), 3-6, 10-8. #Geoff Becktell# ran his record to 5-7 on the season, as he handled Tim Frazier rather easily, winning 6-3, 6-1.
“I am proud of the team's performance, and we are showing some improvement,” said Head Coach #Luke Taylor#. “We need to just keep it going for a full match with all pistons firing.”
The Falcons are back in action on Wednesday, April 7, when they take on Penn State-Behrend in Pepper Pike, Ohio. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
