NDC split ends streak of seven consecutive sweeps

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame finished off their American Mideast Conference (AMC) schedule with a split with Malone on Saturday by scores of 5-0 and 5-2. The results ended the Falcons' (25-9, 18-2 AMC) streak of sweeps in seven straight doubleheaders, dating back to April 4.

Senior right-hander #Tara Meyer# threw her second consecutive shutout in as many days to run her record to 13-3 this season. The transfer from Cleveland State scattered four hits while striking out four in the first game.

Senior shortstop #Stephanie Tartaglione# led the Falcon hitters in the opener, going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and four runs batted in.

In the second game, NDC's offense was limited by the Malone pitcher, Lauren Hershberger.

Sophomore #Meredith Harbarger# (11-5) took the loss for the Falcons by surrendering four earned runs on six hits. Harbarger managed to strike out three Pioneer hitters.

Notre Dame will play their final regular season games on Monday, April 27. The Falcons will host Heidelberg in non-conference doubleheader action beginning at 3 p.m.
