Duncan Williams

Duncan Williams was named Notre Dame College men's basketball assistant coach in August of 2019.

Coach Williams is a part of a staff that is in rare company since their arrival (four seasons). This staff leads the only program in the Mountain East Conference that has an improved winning percentage every year with back-to-back winning records. They also have two wins against Division 1 opponents which no other staff in the MEC has done. Since their arrival, they have also had an All-Conference player every year.

Prior to joining the Falcons, Williams was the assistant coach at Alderson Broaddus for eight seasons. At Alderson Broaddus, Williams won four different Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships while the team amassed a 166-92 record. Williams also recruited and coached 19 All-Conference players, including nine First Team All-GMAC as well as two conference players of the year and a region player of the year.

Williams spent two season as the Assistant Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach at Hedgesville High School where the program set several school records and finished with win-loss totals of 42-5 (2009-10) and 56-7 (2010-11).

Williams began his collegiate playing career at Winthrop University, where he played soccer, before transferring to Shepherd University prior to his junior year. At Shepherd, Williams played both basketball and soccer, serving as the captain for the men’s basketball team during the 2006-07 season and captain of the men’s soccer team during the 2008 season.

He graduated in 2009 with a BA in Business Management and also earned a Master’s in Athletic Administration from West Virginia University.
