Notre Dame scores 10 goals in loss to McKendree

Lebanon, Ill. – After falling behind to McKendree University, early in the game, Notre Dame College worked back within one goal. However, the Falcons could not come all the way back and fell by a score of 13-10. Junior Joselyn Storm recorded three goals to lead NDC.
 
McKendree took a 4-0 lead to begin the game, Notre Dame's freshman Tatum Hagen won a draw control and the Falcons' offense went down the field. Freshman Gwen Bogash scored NDC's first goal, with an assist from Storm. Freshman Elizabeth Cline scored, with 16 seconds remaining in the first quarter, to cut the deficit to two goals, 4-2.
 
Neither team scored for nearly eight minutes into the second quarter, when NDC's Carlie Wilson put the ball in the back of the net to pull the Falcons within one, 4-3.
 
Notre Dame outshot the Bearcats, 7-3, in the second quarter.
 
MU would score the final two goals of the half and led, 6-3, at the halftime break.
 
The Falcons outscored McKendree, 3-2, in the third quarter. Sophomore Jovie Noack received a pass from Cline and scored a goal to make the score 6-4. Storm won the next draw control, and the Falcons took two more shots that were off the mark.
 
After McKendree scored twice, Strom converted on two free position shots within a minute, before the end of the third.
 
Bogash, Rotter, Storm and Wilson all scored in the fourth quarter, bringing NDC within two goals, multiple times. NDC took 12 shots in the fourth, to MU's six, but, McKendree was able to sustain a lead on the scoreboard.
 
Bogash and Wilson both had two goals in the game. Storm won five draws, while sophomore Ella Scoville and Hagen each had three draw controls. Goalie Annika Duncan saved 10 shots.
 
Notre Dame will play its first home game, on March 13 at 2 p.m., versus No. 13 University of Indianapolis.
