This Week: Notre Dame College women's lacrosse is scheduled to take on Ashland University, on Feb. 23, at 5 p.m.
 
Records: NDC is 1-0 after beating Thomas More, 17-12, last Sunday. Ashland opened the season against No. 13 Maryville University, falling by a score of 25-4.
 
Coaches Corner: Elizabeth Mettler is in her first season leading NDC.  She has been on the staff as an assistant and the recruiting director since 2017. Lauren Simko is in her third season as the head coach at Ashland, with a record of 15-21.
 
Rankings: Neither of these teams are ranked in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association top 25 poll.
 
Series History: Notre Dame played Ashland in back-to-back season back in 2019 and 2020. The Falcons won both games, taking an 18-11 victory in 2019, and winning 19-8 in 2020.
 
Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame jumped out to an 8-2 lead, early in second quarter, before Thomas More came back with a 6-3 run to close within three goals, 11-8, with 7:45 remaining in the third quarter. Notre Dame bounced right back with a 6-3 run to win the game, 17-12.
 
Joselyn Storm scored four goals and had six draw controls. Grace Rotter totaled three goals and one assist, while Gwen Bogash scored two goals and had five assists in her collegiate debut. Grace Nickoloff had two goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Annika Duncan saved a career-high 13 shots on goal.
 
Noting the Eagles: Ashland fell behind 11-1 after one quarter to Maryville and the Eagles allowed at least four goals in every quarter. Maryville had 23 draw controls to Ashland's eight. Rachel Crumbacher, Sidney Voss, Cassady Becker and Ashley Fisher each scored one goal for Ashland.
