WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Notre Dame College baseball (0-7) team ran into Rollins College (14-4) on Thursday afternoon inside Alfond Stadium, dropping the contest 12-0.
The Tars got the scoring started early with five runs in the first inning, followed by a run in the second inning to move in front 6-0.
During the top of the third inning, the Falcons began to threaten with a pair of runners in scoring position. After,
Devon Minney singled up the middle to lead off the frame,
Jordan Long followed with a walk, allowing
Maximilian Schweiger to lay down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move the runners up 90 feet. Despite have two runners in scoring position, the Falcons failed to drive them in, as the score remained 6-0 RC.
Rollins added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings to go to win 12-0 in seven innings.
The Notre Dame College baseball team will be back in action tomorrow, Friday Mar. 9 at 11 a.m. against the University of Minnesota Crooskston in Winter Park, Fla.
