Minney drives home a pair, but Falcons fall to Flagler

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Freshman Devon Minney drove in a pair of runs on Wednesday evening for the Notre Dame College baseball team (0-6) against Flagler College (4-14). Despite Minney's production at the plate, the Falcons fell to the Saints 16-3.

Notre Dame hopped on the board during the bottom of the first inning, after Parker reached base on a single up the middle. The Warren, Ohio native would come around to score on a Flagler error (1-0) to give NDC the lead.

The Saints responded in the top of the second inning with three runs on three hits to move ahead 3-1.

Flagler added three more runs during the third inning, followed by five runs in the fourth to claim an 11-1 advantage.

During the home half of the sixth inning, Joe Gubanc, Parker and Tyler Shadle drew three straight walks to load the bases with no outs. A few batters later, Minney drove home a pair of Falcons with a two-out, two-run single to center field (11-3).

FC tallied insurance runs in the seventh inning to win 16-3 on Wednesday evening.

Minney, Parker and Damion Legaspe generated hits for Notre Dame on the day as Minney drove in a pair and Parker scored twice.

On the bump, junior Danny Brammer tossed two innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two hits and striking out one.

The Notre Dame College baseball team will be back in action tomorrow, Thursday Mar. 8 at 5 p.m. against Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
