SALEM, W.Va. – A balanced and efficient afternoon paved the way for the Notre Dame College volleyball team (9-14) to sweep Salem University (5-22) on the road Saturday afternoon.
 
The Falcons were cooking early and often as 
Lilliana Mook generated three straight kills during an opening 8-2 run. NDC kept their foot on the gas with a 12-3 run to leap in front 21-8. 
Sydney Bray closed out the first set with a kill and an ace during a 4-1 run (25-13).
 
Notre Dame utilized a pair of 6-0 scoring sprees in the second set to lead 14-5, highlighted by a trio of kills from 
Samantha Comer. Salem worked the contest to 20-13 NDC, before the Falcons claimed five of the last six points to win the frame 25-14.
 
In the third and final set, Notre Dame once again opened a sizable 12-5 advantage with several Falcons tallying the kills. With the score at 16-10, Salem put together a 5-0 run to close the NDC lead to one. NDC anchored down to ensure the sweep with a 7-2 spree to post match point. Bray punctuated the contest at 25-20.
 
Comer paced the NDC offense with a game-high nine kills on a .412 attack percentage. Bray (8) and Mook (7) added offensive support with .429 and .357 hit percentages, respectively. Setter 
Jayme Zoeckler owned a game-high 27 assists.
 
Defensively, libero 
Kiley Kalina registered a game-high 11 digs, alongside Bray and Zoeckler with six apiece. At the net, Comer, 
Kelsie Palmer and 
Diamond Baker swatted a game-high four blocks apiece.
 
As a team, Notre Dame totaled 35 kills on a .275 attack percentage, to go along with 32 assists, 36 digs five aces and nine blocks. Salem maintained 20 kills on a -.032 attack percentage, to go along with 19 assists, 26 digs, three aces and two blocks.
 
The Notre Dame College volleyball team will be back in action on Monday Nov. 6 to round out the regular season at 7 p.m. against Wheeling.
