Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Harris sets career-high in points, NDC falls to No. 4 Indiana (Pa.)

INDIANA, Pa. – Playing on back-to-back nights at the Tip-off Classic, Notre Dame College was up against another very strong opponent in No. 4 ranked Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The Falcons closed within one point in the second half, but fell by a score of 75-67, on Saturday night.

The offense was on display in the first nine minutes of the game. Junior Gbolahan Adio, who scored a career-high 33 points on Friday, opened the scoring with a three from the top of the key. The two teams went back-and-forth, with NDC grabbing the lead, at 8-6, after a three-pointer by sophomore Devin Haid was good.

Between the 16:02-mark and 12:34-mark the game featured six lead changes. And with 11:12 remaining in the first half, NDC was already 3-for-4 from three and IUP was 4-for-7 from long range.

As hot as the shooting was early on, both teams went just as cold at the same time. After Indiana (Pa.) took a 21-17 lead with 12 minutes on the clock, neither team scored for nearly four minutes. Around the 8-minute mark, the two teams traded a three-point basket.

IUP's lead climbed to 11 points (33-22), as it used a 17-5 run to get there. The Crimson Hawks would lead by as many as 13 at one point in the first half, and took a 41-30 advantage into the halftime break.

Despite Indiana (Pa.) going on multiple runs, NDC never stopped working back into the game. The Crimson Hawks pushed the lead to 13, 49-36, with 16:33 to go in the game. But, the Falcons responded with a 12-0 run, as junior Andre Harris had six points and freshman Robbie Cass hit back-to-back threes. With 13:50 remaining, Notre Dame trailed by one, 49-48. On the defensive end, the Falcons got a steal by Haid and a block by freshman Cameron Johnson, which led to points on offense during the run.

NDC would cut the deficit to one point, again, with 10:15 on the clock, after junior RJ Ogom knocked a pair of free throws. However, that would be as close as Notre Dame would get.

Despite never grabbing the lead in the second half, the Falcons fought to stay within striking distance as the IUP lead only expanded to double-digits once in the final 16 minutes of game time. NDC held the Crimson Hawks to 31-percent shooting in the second half.

Harris ended the game with a career-high 20 points, which included 12 points in the second half. He also brought down eight second half rebounds and finished with 14 boards. Arguably his most impressive stat is the 10 offensive rebounds that he hauled in.

Ogom had all nine of his points in the second half to go along with three blocks in the game. Devin Haid finished with 11 points, six rebounds and two steals. Adio added ten points and two steals.

Notre Dame will have a week off before welcoming Wheeling University to the Murphy Gym, on Nov. 18, for a 4 p.m. start.
