CHARLESTON, W.Va. – On Saturday afternoon, the Notre Dame College women's basketball team (4-12, 3-7 MEC) traveled to No. 13 University of Charleston (13-3, 8-2 MEC). The Falcons fell 82-46 to the Golden Eagles.
UC got off to a hot start by leading 26-13 after the first quarter. The Golden Eagles maintained their advantage into the break, 43-19.
Despite NDC battling until the final whistle and tying UC 14-14 in the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles prevailed 82-46 on Saturday afternoon.
Notre Dame was led on offense by redshirt sophomore
Alana Ellis' team-high 15 points. Freshman
Noel Weathers added eight points and sophomore
Lilee Carlson chipped in seven.
On the glass, freshman
Peyton Wells brought down a team-high and career-high 11 rebounds.
As a team, Notre Dame shot 15-51 (29.4%) from the field, 3-17 (17.6%) from three and 13-21 (61.9%) from the free throw line.
The Notre Dame College women's basketball team will be back in action on Wednesday Jan. 18 at 5:30 p.m., when the Falcons travel to Wheeling University.
