INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Notre Dame College put up five goals against No. 2 University of Indianapolis, on Tuesday, falling by a score of 23-5.
Emileigh Scott and
Ebony Reddick each had two goals.
Nearly a minute into the game, senior
Kyela Dixon caused a turnover and the Falcons took possession. After a foul, sophomore
McKenna Kincaid converted on a free position shot to give NDC a 1-0 lead with 12:32 on the first quarter clock.
NDC goalkeeper
Mackenzie Levine saved a shot, but UIndy quickly forced a turnover and Abigail Lagos put the first goal in the net for the Greyhounds with 10:33 to go in the first.
UIndy would lead 7-1 after the first quarter. Early in the second quarter, Scott won the draw control and Reddick would score NDC's second goal of the game, with an assist by freshman
Piper Hammond.
Near the 10-minute mark in the second stanza, the Falcons put back-to-back goals on the board. Scott won the draw control and junior
Megan Dano sent a pass over to Reddick, who scored. Hammond had the next draw control, which led to a goal by Scott. With 9:09 to go before halftime, Notre Dame trailed 11-4.
At the halftime break, UIndy led by nine goals, 13-4.
Scott would score one more goal in the fourth quarter, on a free position shot.
Levine stopped a season-high 18 shots throughout the game. That performance ranks third in NDC history for most saves in a game.
Scott finished the contest with nine draw controls.
The Falcons will travel to the University of Charleston on April 7. First draw is scheduled for 3 p.m.
