ELKINS, W.Va. –
Emileigh Scott secured 22 draw controls and scored eight times during Notre Dame College's (7-6, 6-1 MEC) dominating, 23-3 win over Davis & Elkins (5-9, 2-5 MEC) on Sunday afternoon. Scott has enjoyed a spectacular season with the Falcons, as she is now the Mountain East Conference single season record holder for draw controls. In addition, the graduate student breaks the MEC record for draw controls in a match with 22, while her eight goals are tied for the second most in NDC program history.
Alongside Scott's eight,
Ebony Reddick,
Megan Dano and
Joselyn Storm scored three goals each, while
Lexington Carson scored twice to pace the Notre Dame offense. Furthermore, Reddick added a team-high four assists during the match, followed by Scott with three, as
Charlotte Vari,
Piper Hammond and Storm each facilitated a pair of assists.
Defensively, Hammond was the anchor for the Falcons as she posted a team-high three ground balls and five caused turnovers to aid NDC to 19 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers as a team. Adding to the defensive charge was
Camille Brathwaite with three caused turnovers, followed by
Alicyn Loberg and
Nia Griffith with two apiece. Moreover, Dano, Griffith,
Madeline Mancini and
Kyela Dixon totaled a pair of ground balls as 13 different Falcons registered at least one during the match.
In goal,
Mackenzie Levine earned the start and generated a team-high seven saves, while teammate
Mackaleigh Levine entered goalie in relief and tallied three saves to round out the contest.
Notre Dame College will be back in action to round out their regular season on Wednesday Apr. 27 for a 3:00 p.m. match against the visiting University of Charleston Golden Eagles.
