DAVENPORT, FL – Day two of Notre Dame College's annual trip to Florida featured Minnesota State Mankato. The Mavericks got the best of the Falcons on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 21-3.
Minnesota State's bats were hot early on, as they tallied two runs in the top of the first inning. However, NDC responded with a game tying two-run home run by
Nick Petrolla, plating
Kyle Espineli who doubled the prior at bat.
The Mavericks would answer with four more runs in the second, and five in the third to leap ahead 11-2.
Tyler Shadle would record an RBI groundout in the bottom of the seventh inning to tally NDC's third and final run.
Leading Notre Dame offense was Espineli who enjoyed a 2-for-4 day at the plate, while Petrolla,
Alec Mendoza and
Parker Hray each generated a hit.
Notre Dame College will play again on Thursday Mar. 10 at 2:30 p.m. against Wayne State College. The contest will be played in Davenport, FL on Northeast Regional Park #4.
