SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Notre Dame College closed out the regular season on Saturday, at home, against Alderson Broaddus University. The Falcons shot 50-percent in the first half and two players scored in double-digits. However, Alderson Broaddus mounted a comeback and made 20 shots from the field in the second half to win 79-65.
The Falcons got off to a fast start, making their first three shots from the field and two free throws to take a 9-4 lead in the first two minutes.
A 7-0 run for AB gave the Battlers the lead (11-9) a couple minutes later. Over the next two minutes, the score would be tied twice and the lead would change back to the Falcons.
Back-to-back threes by juniors
Daylin Lee and
Jaedon Willis started a run to put NDC back in front, 19-15. Lee knocked down another jumper with 12:27 on the clock and Notre Dame held a six-point advantage (21-15).
Willis had 10 points in the first 20 minutes, on 80-percent shooting.
Tyland Crawford, who was celebrated before the game on Senior Day, scored eight points in the final seven minutes of the first stanza, including the final six NDC points of the half. After some early shooting struggles, he finished the half with 10 points.
At the halftime break, NDC led 39-30. The Falcons shot 50-percent from the field and 50-percent from three.
Alderson Broaddus immediately went on a 7-0 run to start the second half. Notre Dame missed their first three shots.

John Godinez sent a pass to junior
Michael Sampson for a dunk. Godinez then pulled up and hit a jumper on the next possession to put NDC in front by six (43-37) with 16:32 to go in the contest.
The Falcons' lead would be cut to one point before Lee saved the day by knocking down a three with 14:19 remaining. However, the Battlers' attack would continue and a three pointer by KJ Walker gave Alderson Broaddus a 51-50 lead, their first lead of the second half, with just under 12 minutes on the clock.
With 4:33 on the clock, AB increased the lead to 11 points (64-53) and had the momentum. Willis knocked down two free throws to cut the AB lead down to seven, with just under two minutes to go, but that was as close as the Falcons could get.
Willis scored nine points in the second half, but no other Falcon scored more than five. Crawford finished the game with 13 points and Lee added 10. Sampson had nine points and nine rebounds.
Alderson Broaddus scored 26 points in the paint in the second half and shot 63-percent from the field.
Notre Dame turns their attention to the Mountain East Conference Tournament, which begins on March 4. On Friday, the Falcons will play No. 16 Fairmont State University. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at Wesbanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.
