Men's basketball falls on day two of the Conference Challenge

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – On day two of the Conference Challenge, the Notre Dame College men's basketball team (0-2) battled Slippery Rock University (2-0). After a strong ending to the first half by NDC, highlighted by a 16-4 run, The Rock responded with a solid second half, to win the contest 82-72.
 
Slippery Rock opened the contest on a quick 7-0 run to hold an early lead two minutes in. The Rock continued to maintain the lead until redshirt sophomore Andre Harris netted a jumper to tie the game at 22-22 with 6:58 until the break. 20 seconds later, senior Daylin Lee knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Falcons their first lead of the game (30-28). NDC grew their lead to as many as six points, before leading 36-33 at the break.
 
NDC held a second half lead until the Rock scored a pair of free throws to tie the contest at 40-40 with 17:37 left in the game. SRU did not give the lead back as they swelled their advantage into double digits, before winning the game 82-72.
 
Notre Dame College was led by a balanced scoring attack which featured senior Jaedon Willis's team-high 15 points, along with grad student Tyland Crawford's 11 and Harris' nine.
 
Harris also paced the team with three assists and four rebounds, as Crawford added four boards.
 
As a team, the Falcons shot 42.6% from the field (26-61), 29.4% from three (5-17) and 78.9% from the charity stripe (15-19).
 
The Notre Dame College men's basketball team will be back in action on Wednesday Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. when the Falcons welcome Bryant & Stratton University into Murphy Gymnasium for NDC's home opener.
