NDC falls after Frostburg State scores a goal in each half

FROSTBURG, Md. – A challenging week for Notre Dame College came to an end against Frostburg State University, who is receiving votes in the national poll. On Sunday, the Falcons fell to the Bobcats by a score of 2-0.

Just over four minutes into the first half, Frostburg State had an opportunity with a corner kick. The Bobcats took advantage of it and scored off the foot of Hannah Thompson.

FSU would take five corners in the first 30 minutes of the contest. In the 25th minute, they looked to score again off a corner. NDC goalkeeper Jordan Pasalaqua jumped and pinned the ball against the crossbar as the ball entered the box.

The only shots of the half for NDC took place in the 33rd minute. Senior Madison Luckett was on a run toward goal and took a shot that bounced off a defender and back to Luckett. She loaded up for another shot, but it was off target.

In the first five minutes of the second half, FSU sent multiple shots on goal. Pasalaqua saved shots taken by Thompson and Mackenzie Alonso, but the Bobcats were relentless and Alonso scored in the 50th minute.

Pasalaqua saved three shots in the second half and ended the game with four. She now has had four, or more, saves in the last six contests. NDC took five shots in the second half.

Notre Dame comes home to play Fairmont State University, on Oct. 19. The contest is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
