WEST LIBERTY, W.VA. — The Notre Dame College women's soccer program opened up their 2021 spring season with a win over the Hilltoppers of West Liberty University with a final score of 1-0.
As a team, the Falcons shot the ball eleven times in comparison to West Liberty's eight shots. Ellie Gess struck for the Falcons in the first five minutes of the game. The senior shot the ball just inside the 18-yard box, through the keepers' hands, and went in for the lone score of the game. Gess led the Falcons offensively with three shots, two of which were shots on goal.
Sophomore Jordan Pasalaqua started and remained in goal for her first start of the year, and earned five saves.
The Falcons will compete again on Mar. 5 at 4 p.m. on the road in Wheeling, W.Va.
