PHILIPPI, WV — The Notre Dame College Falcons (9-3) finished with an 81-56 win Wednesday evening over the Battlers of Alderson Broaddus University. The game finished in an hour and a half.
The win was another team effort in the paint. The Falcons dominated the Battlers on the boards, finishing with 14 more rebounds than their opponent, and earning 29 defensive rebounds, while holding their opponent to less than 10 rebounds underneath their basket. Only two Battler players finished with double-figure points.
Offensively, Notre Dame scored over a third of their points in the paint, aided by 17 offensive rebounds that led to 25 second-chance points. Tamia Ridley led the Falcons on the boards again, with eight total rebounds. Five of them were offensive rebounds.
Four Falcons finished with double figures in the win. Sophomore Marina Adachi scored 13 points, two rebounds, and one assist. Junior Jada Marone finished with 12 points, and added five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Sophomore Amil Ali-Shakir added 11 points and five rebounds and two steals. Lizzie Imrie came off the bench and scored 11 points in her 12 minutes played, adding three rebounds, two assists, and a block.
The Falcons will host West Liberty on Saturday, Feb. 13 in the final matchup of the two teams in 2021.
