Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

WBB Wins Fourth Straight Game

SOUTH EUCLID, OH - The Notre Dame College women's basketball team earned their fourth straight victory tonight while successfully defending Murphy Gymnasium against the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan College. With the win, the Falcons improve to 7-1 while the loss puts the Bobcats at 1-7.

Tonight was yet another team propelled victory, as four Falcons scored double-figure points. Jada Marone led the team with 19 points (seven rebounds, and three steals). This game marks her eighth game finishing with double-figure points. Sophomore Marina Adachi was not far behind, finishing with 17 points and adding four rebounds and a single assist. Amil Ali-Shakir put up 13 points, six of which came from beyond the arc. Junior Theresa Parr was 4-9 from the field and added eight rebounds.

The win over West Virginia Wesleyan also featured a new season record for the Falcons, as they set a new season low for turnovers as a team. Head Coach Lauren Macer commented on the team's ball security after the game. "We did a good job taking care of the ball", said Macer. "We finished the game with eight turnovers, but we need to keep focusing on rebounding. I'm happy to have another solid night of scoring from multiple players, and we look to continue this momentum into Wednesday".

The Falcons will head on the road to Glenville State on Wednesday to take on a nationally-ranked Pioneer team. Tip-off for the matchup is set for 5 p.m.
